The Greater Mukono Development Initiative is a platform dedicated to coordinating development efforts, sharing data, and empowering communities across Mukono, Buikwe, Kayunga, and Buvuma Districts, as well as Mukono, Njeru, and Lugazi Municipalities.
We connect local governments, NGOs, businesses, and citizens to drive sustainable development aligned with Uganda's Vision 2040 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Established by a coalition of local government officials, civil society and community leaders to coordinate development across the Greater Mukono region.
Launched the first integrated 5-year development plan covering all four districts and three municipalities.
Opened the regional data hub with UBOS-aligned statistics, interactive maps and facility directories.
Reached the milestone of tracking over 100 active development projects across the region.
Launched the Greater Mukono 10-Year Strategic Plan 2025–2035 with community-wide consultation.
